Who we are

We are Pete Little and Mokihana Calizar, a couple of ripening elders living with the challenges and amazing experiences brought about because, I, became severely ill from Environmental Illness or Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.

Pete is a man with working hands, and a keen gene for seeing patterns, a lifetime knack for using the right tool for most jobs. When we were homeless and low on financial resources, we imagined a small and mobile chemical and fragrance free home. One of the first of its kind in the now fashionable 'tiny home revolution', our golden wagon Vardo For Two was the place we learned how to begin again.

I am a Hawaiian elder in training, writer, blogger, storyteller and mythic tale creator and maker of medicine stories. To make sense of a world that was without sense I turned to the imaginary world and found remedies.

This site Fragrance Free in '23 began in 2011 when we began a life pinned to the lives of two women who lived in the woods on Whidbey Island. I wanted to share some simple and safe practices, we were out and about for the first time since my diagnosis of MCS.
